Some D-Link adapters require you to install D-Link drivers and some require you to just plug the adapter into your computer to have it automatically install. Please select your adapter model below and follow the correct installation method:
Step 1: Download the correct driver for your wireless adapter. Go to and search for your model adapter. From the product page, click the Downloads tab and download the latest version.
If you could not find the exact driver for your hardware device or you aren't sure which driver is right one, we have a program that will detect your hardware specifications and identify the correct driver for your needs. Please click here to download.
To get the latest driver, including Windows 11 drivers, you can choose from the above list of most popular D-Link downloads. Click the "Download driver" button next to the matching model name. After you complete your download, move on to Step 2.
If your driver is not listed and you know the model name or number of your D-Link device, you can use it to search our driver archive for your D-Link device model. Simply type the model name and/or number into the search box and click the Search button. You may see different versions in the results. Choose the best match for your PC and operating system.
Once you download your new driver, then you need to install it. To install a driver in Windows, you will need to use a built-in utility called Device Manager. It allows you to see all of the devices recognized by your system, and the drivers associated with them.
If you are having trouble installing your driver, you should use the Driver Update Utility for D-Link. It is a software utility that automatically finds, downloads and installs the right driver for your system. You can even backup your drivers before making any changes, and revert back in case there were any problems. You can safely update all of your drivers in just a few clicks. Once you download and run the utility, it will scan for out-of-date or missing drivers:
The dongle is a typical USB WWAN modem. It requires usb_modeswitch to change from mass_storage mode (enables installation of driver) to modem mode.Mass storage mode USB id: 2001:ab00WWAN USB id: 2001:7e35
After the switch you'll see 4 ttyUSB devices appearing in /dev. For me these devices only started to work after telling the option driver about the USB id of the device:echo "2001 7e35" > /sys/bus/usb-serial/drivers/option1/new_id
If in mass_storage mode there is a Windows driver available with D-Link Connection Manager. It basically just switches the device to modem mode, and then provides a GUI to establish a connection.Surprisingly D-Link provides Linux support for the dongle. A page is dedicated to guide you through the installation. -routers/how-to-install-my-dwm-222-on-ubuntuHowever it is not recommended to follow the instructions, because the 'driver' is just a collection of bash scripts that tries to configure PPP daemon. Interestingly it has a complete collection of MCC, MNC, APN triples for all operators around the world. Based on the IMSI queried from the SIM card it tries to find the right settings and feed them to pppd.
Now comes the tricky part: the bat files tries to reboot the device into fastboot mode using ADB shell. However D-Link requested ADB to be turned off for the device, so the fastboot part fails. Basically you'll end up with a device that has new DSP software, but the Android part is unchanged. Fortunately the device stays operational after the failed update, only its LED is stuck on white instead of different colors/blinking.So the complete upgrade cycle would look like this (based on reading the bat files):
PLEASE, use the following links on the "beta" FTP/HTTPS site to see if you can find your hardware. From there, go to the Forums to read about specific beta builds and see how they work for a particular piece of router hardware. Please, don't be afraid to perform a search first - either on the specific hardware forum or your preferred search engine. A lot of the questions you may have are likely, and easily, find-able if you use something like duckduckgo.com or google.com and use "DD-WRT" in quotes with the word AND (in uppercase) plus your hardware or issue to perform your search.
4MB flashAtheros and Ralink builds are not prefixed with mini, small, std, or mega. 4MB is enough for basic dd-wrt functions but there are a few routers where certain functions had to be removed due to space limitations.
